12 yr. old daughter with a partial acl tear

My daughter partially tore her acl during basketball practice on December 28th. The swelling is gone, and she has had a few weeks of physical therapy and seems to be almost 100% back. We know we will have to have surgery at some point (probably next year as she is almost done growing and the dr. advised this).

She is very anxious to get back to basketball and her team needs her! We don't go back to the dr. for another week. Is it too soon for her to play with a brace on if she is feeling good? Basketball is her life!

my opinion... NEW

I'm a few years older then your daughter, and I severely partially tore my ACL back in April... And I'm still doing physical therapy. Honestly, In my opinion it would be best if she waits till the doctor releases her. I'm still on restricted activity, and I sometimes try to push it, then I am in pain for quite a while after it.
