ACL Reconstruction

I need ACL reconstruction. Several years ago i tore my Achilles Tendon and it was sucessfully repaired. The tendon now feels approximately five times as thick as my other Achilles tendon. So I am wondering if instead of a Patella or Hamstring used as the donor tissue for the ACL repair, can a portion of the repaired Achilles tendon be used sucessfully? Thank you.

interesting idea

This is an interesting idea, but likely not one that would make a good graft choice. While the achilles tendon is sometimes used as an ACL graft (usually a cadaver achilles), your repaired achilles is likely thickened by scar tissue and probably doesn't have the greatest tensile properties...ie, it wouldn't make a good graft.
