In 2001 I was a junior in high school finally made the soccer team for the high school. I was the starting right striker in the first practice game of the year and with in 15 mintues I was on the side line with what later became known as a torn ACL left knee. All I did was jump and land and my cleat stuck in the ground and i went over at the knee with a pop and had to be carried off the field. The first thing my parents did was take me to a orth doc. he told us after an MRI that it was only a partial tear and he would clean it up along with some meniscus clean up as well. He did the surgery and gave me a brace that i would have to wear the rest of my life...I was not ok with that idea and went back to playing soccer and first game back i took of the brace half way through the game and 10 mintues later I was on the side line AGAIN so went to a different doctor and he said i should have replaced the ACL first go around(bad call on 1st doctor i guess), so there i went to ACL reconstruction 2nd knee surgery with 1 year time period. It is now 2010 and the left knee is good, I had the patella graph which did hurt some and still cannot kneel on that knee with out pain, but other than that knee works great. Now last week January 28, 2010 I was snowboarding and went off the 3rd jump at south park in mammoth and flew over a buddy who wrecked and landed without my knee bent and had instant pain this is my right leg which is my good leg, went to ski patrol then to mammoth hospital and had xrays and ACL tear test but doctor was borderline wether i tore it or not...so next week back to normal doc for probable MRI and possible surgery! How long do you think I'll miss work? Well leave any comments or suggestions they would be appreciated!
