AM'S STORY

by Ana Bossbaly
(New Jersey)

I had a work related accident that caused a acl reconstruction and lateral and medial meniscatomy. Two month's later I then had another surgery to clean out scar tissue and a manipulation because I could not straighten my leg completely and was still having a significant amount of pain. The manipulation worked for a while but 5 months later was back in for another surgery for another manipulation and scar tissue.

At that surgery the doctor found another meniscus tear. I was in 10 months of consecutive physical therapy and for most who know what that is like..not fun. It has now been 16 months since the 3rd surgery and I am still having pain, stiffness and unable to fully extend my leg. I am still walking with a limp. At times of course I can walk better than other times.

Three months ago I was transferred over to a new doctor who after only seeing me twice released me from medical care and all treatment. Since this time my lawyer fought to get me back into treatment and thankfully succeeded. I am now going back to the original doctor and having a MRI in a few days that the first doctor perscribed. My concerns are what to ask or what info may be helpful to me whatever the outcome of this MRI shows. I have a hard time accepting that I will never be able to bend normally or ever walk again without limping or any pain. This case is of course complicated because it is a work related injury. I want to know if anyone else has any views or opinions that have any similarities or experience. Thanks
