Barb's ACL Reconstruction

Well...I am only 16 and I basically DESTROYED my ACL...anyways I was in physical therapy for 10 months and a week ago I just got my knee Surgery. Yes it was a bit painful and now this week I am walking well "limping" without crutches is that okay???

Anyways I am a bit scared and disappointed because I am a soccer freak and I just can't wait to play.

Also the fact that all my friends go clubbing and I just have to stay home...what can I do?

hang in there

I know it is disappointing now, but in a few weeks you will be back to normal daily activities, and in a few months back to soccer.

Keep up with your rehab and don't get discouraged!

Don't Worry

I had the same thing at 16 along with a meniscetomy(i'm 19 now). The first few weeks are absolute hell. You should probably stay on the crutches a little longer or else take it easy. The only reason I say that is because I started walking within about a week and a half, and it just made the rest of the recovery period that much more difficult. It's really good that you're able to walk unaided. I hope you get through this and get back to your soccer as soon as possible.
