I tore my acl in 1994 skiing at age 25. My knee was stable and had no meniscus damage so I decided with my doctor not to have sugery. This summer I was jumping a wave and hyperextended the knee. About 1 month ago I caught a slight edge playing ice hockey and popped my knee out. I tore the menscus to I have to get the acl and meniscus repaired next week. I had 15 trouble free years on my knee and the prognosis looks good. I'm having the hamstring graft. My biggest concerns are complications, precription pain killers, and slow recovery at my advanced age of 40.
