i tore my acl last july playing soccer, the doctors told me it was just a sprain until i injured the ligament 2 more times, had an arthroscope done and found it was completely torn, i had surgery on feb.24 2010 and i am now about 4 months post op, the first two days were bad but i just stopped taking the pain meds and found that they were just making me feel sick and nervous, i wasnt supposed to walk until 6 weeks but i could walk with ease at 4, just do your exercises everyday and if they say to do three sets of 10 leg lifts do 4, it paid off for me, also i found that i did ankle pumps from as soon as i woke up from surgery to about 3 weeks and that helped a lot, i mean constantly doing them. overall the surgery went great, never felt any pain after the first few weeks, my knee feels the exact same as the other one and i played my first game of basketball today and never even knew i had surgery, only two more months and i can play with a team all out again, i had hamstring graft done which i feel everyone should. do not be scared, it is nothing to worry about and you will be back playing sports in no time,
