First tear
by: Timothy

I'm 3 days post op right now from an ACL reconstruction and medial and lateral menisci repair. Unfortunately, I can't do leg raises cause my patella area is very tender from the graft, but I am able to get to almost full extension and increasing my flexion daily. My big issue was that when the surgeon came in and spoke to me about the procedure, he saoded my ACL had been gone for "a while.". The only logical explanation to this was that I tore it during high school basketball. I can remember my first major knee injury, but that was sophomore year, and it was diagnosed as an MCL sprain. I had subsequently never felt confidence in my knee the next 2 seasons, and " sprained" the knee multiple times. It finally took me til now, as a senior in college, to pull the plug on surgery, as I landed awkwardly trying to catch a football in a flag game. Has anyone had an experience like this? I'm very surprised because even though there is no exaxt date to when my ACL went, I can only assume I played 2 seasons of basketball with one ACL.

Ouch! It's incredible that you've had to undergo five separate surgeries.

3ACL within 2 years
by: Anonymous

I am almost 8 weeks out of my second acl surgery on the same knee within a year 1/2. I recently just found out I may have done it again. I have already been told I can't play competitive basketball again. It kills me. But if I have to hve a 3rd I don't know what to do. Any advice ?? Like would it be ok if I didn't even get another 😩😩😩
