Broke ankle in 3 places

I broke my ankle in three places on 12/6/08. Have a pin, 2 screws and a plate in my right ankle and badly sprained my left. Wearing a boot on the broken ankle and a velcro support on the other. Need additional surgery to remove the pin on March 10th and nine months later the screws and plate can be removed. Will I be able to walk on the right leg when the first pin is removed?

I broke my ankle this spring and had 10 screws and a plate put in..can you tell me why oh why they can charge $3000.00 plus for 10 screws..anf $1,600 for the plate.. sounds way out of line..thanks(:)

walking after pin removal

this will likely depend on your surgeon, but depending on what the pin is actually doing, you should be able to bear weight fairly quickly after the surgery. Check with your surgeon for a definite answer though.
