calcium deposits in shoulder

by Helene
(Montreal, Canada)

I've had calcium removed from my arm twice now. 2nd time..almost none but was told it was the shell (which was quite big) that was causing the pain. He therefore fragmented the shell and said that I should have less pain but he also told me that the tendons are worn and I should be very careful doing any thing with my arm for a while.
Will the tendon repair itself?........
How long will it take?
Is there anything I can do to help speed along............
Will I get back all mobility in my arm?
Should I do physiotherapy?

Thank you for any help you can give me

shoulder tendon healing
by: Bart - SII

the tendons should heal some, provided you rest and give them time to recover. The best thing you can do for this is to go through some type of rehabilitation. The deposits and wearing down of the tendons is likely caused by some type of imbalance or dysfunction in the shoulder and therapy may be able to help correct that, hopefully stopping the cause of the problem.
