I endure more then 6 years with a "sprained knee" according to the hospital when I had it checked out. The first time it happened I did not know what it was. I punched some guy at a bar and felt it on my knee. minutes later the knee looked like a grapefruit. having no insurance I had to suffer in pain and agony for more then a year. I kept tearing it almost weekly from normal stuff.like walking upstairs and having it shift out of place kinda feeling. when I finally had it checked out the doctor said its just a sprain. well I always lifter heavy weights in the gym leg pressin about 800lbs and lots of squats. all this time having pain day and night. I finally had it rechecked after another tear, this one happened at work climbing down a scissor lift and it hurt! luckily the doctor I went to did all the necessary check ups and told me in his omw words" I don't know how you are able to walk. you have nothing holding that knee together" I was 36 and the doctor advise me to have the surgery now before the big 40. I got the cadaver graft and was afraid I was not going to do what I like doing like lifting weights and such. I was glad I had it done. its been 2 full years and yes it still hurts but its stable I no longer have the same instability that I had for many years. I was back in the gym doing heavy legwork soon( don't know if thats why I'm still having pain) but over all its better. I still treat it with caution. when ever I had to walk on the ice/snow I would take one step at a time. my goal is to be able to do light jogging which I've been afraid to do for the past 2 years
