Well friday the 13th of febuary 2009, i was playing basket ball i went for a 3 point shot and relized it was not going to make it so i charged in to atempt to get my own rebound. I got inside just as the ball hit the rim jumped up grabed the ball and came down on my leg at an angle and my knee cap popes to the side and my knee bent completly to the inside snaping out of place. So i fell screaming in pain i knew something was wrong. We called my aunt i could not move the knee at all. We got home i took some ibprofen and iced it. We wait to see how i was till the next day. I still could not put any weight on it at all. So my aunt took me to the hospital and i got an x ray and all bones were find. So it was time for an orthopodic docter. So that monday i went to the ortho doc and he said i torn my acl he then schudled me for a mri to confirm. And it was torn sweet just my luck and they set my surgery date for march 6th.
So today is the 7th i had no idea what to expect after surgey and im not sure if what im doing is good or weather i should not follow the docs. Im in a great deal of pain. My foot is twice the size of the other and the whole leg is purple and when laying down it gets worse. I actally feel better when standing. I have been waking on it a good bit doc said i should as i can tolerate the pain. Im wondering if thats good. Ive kept the polar ice machine pad on it pretty much all the time feels so much better when it is on. Im just wondering if these symptons are normal or not. The doc also said that i could take a shower the next day and i took the bandages off and it begain bleeding pretty fast. My doc used staples instead of stiches. I also want to mention that during my surgery they found that my meniscus was move way out of place , ripped and pinched between my joint so the also fixed that when they were inside my knee. Can some one please let me know if anything here is worth worring about or not. Im pretty scared my life is running with out it college is going to be hard for me to get into.
