(CHGO,IL)
On 4/18/09, I was wrestling with a friend who is a bit bigger than I am.(Me-5'07 155, Friend 6'02 250) So as you can see, this was a bad idea. After a few feable attempts by me to take him down, he just put his weight on me and down I went. I remember hearing that lovely "popping" sound and I knew it wasn't good. Hoping for the best I just iced it and went to bed. The next morning I woke up with a knee the size of a softball.
After numerous Dr. visits and referals for an OS and an MRI, the outcome was a torn ACL and meniscus of the R knee. I scheduled surgery for 05/27/09 with a patellar allograph.
The first 2-3 days post-op are days that I'm glad are gone as the pain was unbearable even with the pain meds.(Hydrocodone)I had my first PT session 2 days after the surgery and have been going 2x a week. The forced bending is by far the worst but it has been worth it. It has been just over 2 post-op and I have already hit the 120 mark in flexion and have ditched the crutches.
I can't wait to get back to everyday activities and to be able to enjoy the summer weather! Good luck to everyone.
