3 day post surgery appointment
Hello all,
I'm a healthy 25 yr old male. I tore my ACL and damaged my meniscus pretty good back in November 16, 2008. It happened on a motorcycle but thats a long story. After fighting with Department of Labor, I was finally to get my surgery March 24,2009. Prior to surgery I had full range of motion since I had gone to physical therapy.
The pain was bearable from the start. A 2 out of 10. It felt more like pressure applied to my shin. I was given Oxycodene for pain and Cephalexiin to treat bacterial infections. The Cephalexin were 6 pills for a day supply and Oxycodene every 4 hrs as needed for pain. I took the pain for the first two days but then stopped since I realized i could bear the so called pain.
3 day post-surgery visit, Doctor said wounds were healing or already healed. you can't really see the cuts. Doc wants wounds to fully heal before scheduling physical therapy.
I feel pretty good about the surgery, the pain was never there and I was able to apply 100% weight as soon I left the clinic. Crutches were never used. I'm able to bend and fully straighten out the knee. I'm just tired of having this brace, it is bulky and annoying. I can't wait to return to work on Light duty, then full duty.
When I remove the brace to shower, the leg feels really light likes it wants to fly away.
