I am a 24yr old female about 5'6 and a little over a week ago as I was getting out of bed my left knee popped out. This has happened to me once befroe about 7 or 8 years ago with the same knee walking to answer the phone, I don't really understand why at these odd times it pops out. I am a floor trainer at a gym and work out 7 days a week performing plyo, heavy to moderate free weights for years. I squat 90lbs on the smith machine...quite modertly for a small framed person. Well I am just thankful that nothing has happened while working out. I have seen a doctor and it is because of my "Q angle" (my pelvic alignment, it does tilt forward and slightly out more on my left side and infact I can notice it when I lie flat. I have no pain only stiffness in the knee joint now, and actually started weight bearing as soon as I came home from the hospital (my knee is in a full leg knee immoblizer of course). I am wondering is it too soon to start bending and getting ROM back in my knee and what can I possibly do to prevent surgery if it starts happening more often? Is there anything I can do to speed up my recovery?
