Cold wrap for chronic pain?

by Gina
(New Brunswick)

My shoulder pain is over a year old now. The doctor thinks it's an impingement. He gave me some exercises (they're straight from your Rotator Cuff Book!) and told me to apply ice after performing them.

I'm using a regular cold pack in the front, as he recommended. Would an expensive cold wrap be more useful in my case? If so, why?

Thank you.

Gina

The cold pack on the front of the shoulder should be sufficient - just apply it to the area that is most painful after your exercises. The wrap is nice and convenient, but not necessarily any better.

Just FYI, the Ultimate Rotator Cuff Training Guide isn't one of my own books, just a great resource that I recommend to visitors with shoulder pain.
