yea me after my surgery in my awesome socks and brace lol.
So im a senior in high school my name is David Anez, I managed to tear my ACl, Meniscus and MCL all in one shot, ended my baseball season early, I am a tri-athlete...well least I was...This all happened at the comfort of my home, i was out riding my ATV around and while doing a Wheely I hit a rock I failed to notice and it slammed the front wheels down sending me forward at about 20-30 Mph, my left leg flew off, but my right foot got caught in the brake clutch and caused my body to continue to twist without my lower leg, this was by far the most severe pain i've EVER experienced in my life, and i've torn my labrum, bicep tendon, and dislocated my shoulder during football, I just recently got my surgery done (yesterday 4/1/11) yes i know an awesome date isn't it? on April fools lol...so now im in this nice brace, and im on the road to recovery..a long one...i miss sports..its what keeps me going i really dont know what to do now. i just hope i can pull out of this slump and recover enough to be able to at least play sports for fun again even if not competitively.
If anyone has any advice i'll gladly accept it, im willing to try whatever it takes to get my knee back to as close to 100% as possible, i have my first Physical therapy appointment tomorrow.
All i know is right now im taking percocet and i wish it was a stronger pain killer, because im still in alot of pain.

I also am a senior in high school and ended my soccer season short during a game with a torn ACL and Meniscus.I am now three months post surgery and still in the recovery process. My advice to u wud b to get off da pain killers as soon as possible!!!Mental prepare yourself to get through all the pain! the first two weeks are probably the worst but it gets better. Motivate yourself to move ur knee as much as possible, do EVERYTHING u do at therapy at home. Leg extentions, quad sets, and lateral raises will help the most with getting ur strength back. Be patient!! That's a huge problem that i had as much as i wanted to get right back into playing to prepare for woman's league and college.Oh and drink alot of protein shakes too i lost a lot of muscle in my leg because i had a hard time eating without gettin sick:( But goodluck with the recovery process and dont get lazy cuz trust me after going to therapy and working out so much ur gonna get burnt out at one point but jus look at the upsides of playing again!! GOODLUCK
