Finally was told ACL tear after 8 years

Hi guys,
I had an incident when I was 18 skiing, where I was told that I tore medial meniscus. About 8 months later I had the arthroscopic surgery to removed the torn pieces, and went back to "normal."
4 years later, landed in my bad knee hard, couldn't walk and went back to my doctor who did another arthroscopic meniscectomy and told me by the time Im 30 I'll probably need a knee replacement. Just about a month ago I landed on my knee playing volleyball, I'm so used to hurting it randomly at this point so I decided I'd find a surgeon (my old one relocated). When I went for my appointment the other day (just in case anything more serious happened) just by manipulating my knee he could tell I tore my acl, I'm going in for an mri on tuesday to see exactly what were looking at. So i think acl reconstruction in the future, I'm kinda relieved that there's a reason I keep hurting myself, but a little nervous that if its an old injury, can it be repaired and can I go back to what it was like before i hurt it? Im sick of this knee stuff, I still think of myself as active, but then again Im "the girl who's always complaining about her leg".
All of your stories are very inspirational, and I'm going to try and keep a positive outlook on this whole situation :)
Thanks Jackie
