im a 23 year old tennis player & a brazilian jiu jitsu fighter, i had surgery 2 weeks ago after tearing my acl , the surgery went great, it took about 3 hours because they had to fix a lot of things in my knee. That day i had no pain, the second day was unbearable, the worst part was when they had to put me on the wheel chair to get me in the car, i had never felt that kind of pain, the 3rd day i didn't get up at all, i just didn't wanted to feel the same pain. But on the 4th day it was much better, i got up with a little bit of pain.(For the first week i had ice on my knee 24 hours a day, i only took it off when i had to go to the bathroom or shower, after that even at night my parents changed it, because of that i only had a little bit of swelling) . Everyday i get better, i started my PT 2 days ago, i can put a lot of weight on my knee, and i only walk with 1 of my crutches, and i can lift my leg with no help even do it hurts like hell! the surgery to me is the easy part, the real problem is my head, I'm going crazy not been able to do anything, working out, practicing, and the worst part is that i know i have a long way to go, its only been 2 weeks. i just want to know how do u guys get over that feeling?
