Haley's ACL Surgery Story

by Haley Harman
(Walnut Grove, MO)

My ACL expirience has definitely had ups and downs but I've mostly experienced ups.

When I tore my ACL, I was in my very first high school basketball game as a Freshman. I made it through the two quarters of JV and it was the end of the third quarter in the varsity game.

I was dribbling down the floor to the short corner, there were three seconds on the clock, and I went to shoot.

Thats all I remember about the initial injury.

I don't remember the girl even touching me, but everyone in the stand said she plowed me over. I'm pretty sure it tore before she hit me though. When it snapped it snapped loud.

Then came the sugery. The sugery was painful for about two days then it wasn't too bad.

I was on crutches for about two and a half to three weeks. Now I walk like nothing ever happened. Thats thanks to sports medicine though. I'm back to shooting and sort of jogging. It has been 6 weeks since my surgery.

It has been long but definitely worth it.
