Help with knee pain

Hi,I'm a hairdresser of 60 yrs. old,one week ago today,I stumbled sideways ,heard a pop.it is very painfull to bend.I'm really in a bad way.I bought an elastic knee thing to keep it tight.The inside of my knee hurts by the touch.I have no insurance,can you tell me what is wrong with it,how long it will take to heal ,what can I do to help.

I can not miss work

The best thing for your knee is to have it looked at by a doctor for an evaluation. If you have any ligament damage, cartilage damage, etc. it will likely not heal on its own and will need to be treated. Rest, ice, compression, and elevation should help until you can see a doctor.
