Hip Flexor (pain after inactivity)

by Bill
(Debary, Florida)

I believe I have a hip flexor injury. I have seen a doctor
but he has yet to diagnose the problem. I am on pain medication
and muscle relaxors. My pain is a spasm in the flexor area and is most intense in the morning when I wake up. Is intense pain after an inactive period a symptom of a flexor injury?

muscle pain can be common after a period of inactivity. This is especially true of muscle strains and general muscle soreness. When the muscle is inactive, it becomes less flexible and can be stiff. When activity resumes (ie. waking up first thing in the morning), the muscle may be painful. This pain may decrease as the muscle warms and starts to move.

I would continue with your doctors care and follow their advice for your recovery.
