How long is the recovery time from a Salter Harris 1 fracture just below the kneee?

It's been 11 weeks since my daughter experienced a Salter Harris Type 1 fracture just below her knee. It went undiagnosed for a month. Her doctor put her in a knee brace and she has gradually been weaned off of it. She's just starting to feel little to no pain. How long is the typical recovery time and what is the likelihood of returning to sports without rehabilitation?

The normal time frame for fractures is somewhere around 6 weeks, after diagnosis. It sounds like she is along those time lines right now.

It is possible to return to sports without rehab, but I wouldn't recommend it as rehabilitation will give her the best chance to avoid re-injury or different injury.
