I tore my ACL and meniscus playing powderpuff football. I was running and my right leg was planted when a girl hit my on my left side and there was a loud pop followed by a few moments of the most intense pain of my life, and that was that. I finally got my surgery last week, a month after I got the injury, and am currently at the end of day 4 of recovery. I can't say that this has been an easy, enjoyable, comfortable, or positive experience in any way, but at this point I'm just glad that the worst is behind me. The day of the surgery is basically a big blur to me because I was so drugged up, but each day since I have made a little improvement. The worst part, in my opinion, is being unable to be active. I can't stand just laying around but obviously I have no choice, so I am going a little bit crazy. As long as I keep up with taking my pain meds, it hasn't been too unbearable. Of course, I have had a few bad moments when I get frustrated and start crying, but all in all I am pretty proud of myself for the way I have handled it so far. I'm on this website now simply for reassurance, because it makes me feel better to know that other people have been through this and are doing okay now.
P.S. Don't play powderpuff! Sooo not worth it.
