Jones Fracture and Bursitis

I have a Jones fracture and bursitis.

I wore a cast and stayed off my foot for 2 months. He took the cast off and put me in a boot for 1 month. The doctor told me not to wear the boot any more and put me in a post op shoe because I had bursitis. I cannot take anti inflmatory drugs due to an alergy to asprin and acid reflux. I am also allergic to acid reflux medications such as prilosec, I have tried them all. I can only take pepcid 20mg twice a day. I still have to watch what I eat and drink. He said he could not give me a shot in my foot because it might rupture my achilles tendon. It has been four months now and the pain is almost unbearable. I take tylenol 3 for pain about four times a day, mostly at night. I have been doing all the excersises he gave me to do but still can only put very little weight on my foot due to the pain and the Jones fracture has not completely healed. I don't know how to help myself with the pain. I have used heat, ice packs, foot massagers, pain patches and any thing else I can think of, but the pain won't go away.
I want to know what to do to help myself, my doctor told me the last visit, that it could take up to a year for all this to heal.

You may benefit from physical therapy - it could help restore muscle strength and help to modulate your pain - I would recommend talking with your physician about a referral.
