10 Days Ago I tore my ACL. In one sprint down the basketball court, it happened. I planted my left foot to stop and turn. My knee decided to keep moving. Then my hip decided to pop out! Thank goodness it popped back in w/in a second because the pain was the worst I have ever felt. Then I learned in the next few seconds why men scream in a high voice sometimes. Because there are few moments when your pain level is off the charts in life. This was mine.
I haven't had an MRI yet but the orthoped feels it is gone. I am still crossing my fingers. Going on a trip to Hawaii in a few wks with my office that I am paying for and don't want surgery until I get back. Watching the ACL repair surgeries on Google is awesome, but thinking that I need to do it gives me a sick feeling. I'm bummed but worse has happened to me. After all, I've had 2 strokes (before the age of 33). Gotta keep a positive attitude. After all, life is a bunch of experiences, both bad and good... So live it up! Our family has a motto... We are the "Lor......."(our last name), and we do hard things! Take care all!
