I play gaelic football and about 6 months ago during practice I was demonstrating to younger players how to kick the ball with the inside of the foot as to allow for curve. After about 6 or 7 shots I began to feel a dull pain on the inside of my right knee. I stopped and did not play for 6-7 weeks , when I did resume again I was running when I felt a pop and my knee felt very unstable. I ceased playing for about 4 months and recently started to cycle and build up my quads to try to enable me to play again. I can jog and run about 3/4 pace with slight discomfort, with my knee only really being sore in the morning time. Can I resume full ( sprint ) training with maybe the help of a knee brace. I have consulted my GP and an xray shows nothing , is a trip to the physio my next step.
