knee pain 2 years after ACL Reconstruction

by Celia

I had ACL (allograft) repair done about 2 years ago. I originally injuried my knee (left) playing indoor soccer. I had been very active, playing soccer, running, walking, basketball and jogging before this injury. I can't play soccer anymore but I have played softball, jogged and do alot of walking.

I have noticed over the last year that my knee seems to hurt all the time, feels weak at times, aches, hurts when I run or walk (on the treadmill) and sometimes I get a burning feeling across my knee. It almost feel as if my knee is sprained all the time. It also seems swollen. I am going to call the Ortho Doc who did the surgery to make an appointment but I wanted to get some info. I haven't seen the Doc in a year so I am a bit worried.

I would definitely recommend a follow up with your doctor. It could be due to muscle imbalance (almost like PFS) or it could be something else going on. Seeing your doctor should give you some answers regarding why you are having pain.
