Knee

by nick

I was playing basketball a few moths ago (october) and dislocated my kneecap when cutting to the basket. i saw an orthopedic and went to physical therapy. he said it would be fine. I started playing basketball again at the begining og january. a few days ago i was playing a game. i was wearing the knee brace the doctor had prescribed to me, designed to hold my kneecap in place. i was going for a ball and a guy flew into the outside of my knee. my leg was pretty straight and despite the knee brace it felt like my knee cap dislocated again but poped back in very quickly. i was able to walk after it happened. should i be concerened of a ligiment tear or other problems because of the way the injury occured or should i let it go cause it might just be the same thing as before.

KNEE
by: Michelle

I wouldn't let it go. You should have it checked out. The more this occurs the more you're putting yourself at risk for further injury. Better to be safe than sorry.

Calaxo Screw
by: A concerned parent

Hi, the same thing happened to my son. He had knee surgery in Oct.2006 with new ACL and calaxo screws. In feb. during league playoffs, he was shooting the ball and his knee went out on him like he dislocated his knee. The PT at school said it appears he dislocated his knee but the next day, we brought him to see his orthopedic surgeon and had an MRI done to find out his ACL was damaged to due the Calaxo screws, that were recalled. He had to have another ACL surgery last week. Please have you knee checked out immediately because the Calaxo Screws are recalled and are bad!!!
