MCL tear grade 2

i have a grade 2 MCL sprain which i suffered 2 weeks ago.Have abandoned my crutches now.I can bear my body weight ,the knee flexes beyond 90 deg and i can walk with a slight limp.Been doing my Physio exercises viz.isometric .Have a soccer tournament by the end of 4 weeks from now on(i.e. 6 weeks from date of injury).What can i do to recover in time for that?

6 weeks out from an MCL injury is a possible time frame, but things have to go just right. Healing takes time and there is no way to speed it up.

Focus on improving your range of motion gradually, strengthening your quads, hamstrings, calf, hips and core, improving balance and reaction time, and endurance.

Let pain be your guide and don't try to go too fast. A grade II MCL sprain has the potential to heal very well, or the potential to cause future problems if it results in laxity in the knee.

I also have a 2 degree MCL tear as well. I was in a straight knee brace for 1 week, the Don-Joy brace for another week and this week I haven't had the brace on and my calf, hamstring and knee have been in pain. I have a popping or clicking sound when I stretch to 90 degrees. There is snow on the ground and I am afraid I may get re-injured. Other people I have known have worn the Don-Joy brace for 4 weeks or so on a first degree tear. How do you tell if you are healed enough and should I be requesting an MRI since I have that clicking? I am suppose to be going to Australia in October for the World Master Games for over 40 soccer. I want a full recovery. Can anyone help guide me? My orthopedic surgeon takes maybe 1-2 minutes with me and I feel I have a new question a day or two later.
