Meredith's ACL Reconstruction

I was really nervous about the surgery after all the other comments that I had found through googling... To be honest, the worse part for me was the pain medication. I had surgery on 9/25.. it is now 3 weeks out and I am crutch free, at 120 and 0. My physical therapy is daily... and it can be painful. I really appreciate the ice machine! It makes the nights bearable especially with the immobilizer.

So my experience has not been as horrible as others. I have virtually no scar, and everything is a little tender, but I have taken ZERO pain meds since 4 days after surgery. I could not take the vomiting anymore!

Good luck with your surgery, I hope it goes as smoothly as mine..

;) My surgeon Dr. Wiese is AMAZING!

Hamstring Injury??
by: Anonymous

Last weekend I took my son to a Halloween party. It had been exactly 4 weeks since my ACL Reconstruction. Anyway, I was standing in line with my 3 yr old son so that he could participate in a halloween event. I was struck in the back of my leg (by an 8 or 9 year old boy sliding across the gym floor) and felt a "pull" behind my thigh. The pain was not in my knee. The blow knocked me right off my feet and took me a minute to be able to get up.
I iced the back of my leg, but now I am having really bad pain in what I think is my hamstring. I have a dr appt for Friday and am concerned that I could have caused damage.. I did have a hamstring graft for my acl recon and am really worried.. Any ideas?
