my other knee 2nd ACL reconstruction

well i dont know if its common but i will need a to fix my other knee. after i damaged both ACL in each knee in two different basketball injuries...
only this time im more worried...cuz the 1st time i had to stay IN THE HOSPITAL FOR 5 DAYS due to infection..

so my question is what i can do to prevent infection which caused so much pain and agony????

My knee which i already operated on is strong but i still feel pain in although its been 3yrs now what is that pain due to..i feel it in the bone in the upper part of the shin??? Near the operation site...

3rd quetion is how can the loss of nerve feeling i get on the outer side of the knee be prevented...i was told it was due to the operation site,,,CAN THIS BE PREVENTED BY THE SURGEON??????????
