every doctor is different
by: Anonymous

I've gone through ACL surgery 2x already, my third is next month :/. After my fist surgery, I was only on crutches for 3 weeks, but after the seccond surgury, I was on them for longer. Your doctor just wants you to take it slow. That means longer time on the crutches and a longer rehab. Trust me, I know.
If it's not the same doc then maybe this doctor's protocol is different than the doctor who did you first surgury.
Just try to stay positive and be patient.

I´s me again at 3 weeks!
by: G

I´ve been progessing rapidly but my doc and the therapist insist that I stay off my leg for 6 weeks! I thought every case was different? My muscle is fading in the injured leg and I´m pretty sure that if I don´t start putting full weight on the leg, this recovery is going to take a LONG time. I have been walking around at home without crutches and it´s sort of like shuffling more than walking. The leg feels heavy but solid. I am doing leg lifts etc. religiously.
I know I should listen to my doc but I have read too many stories here and everybody seems to be walkingg without crutches at the 3 week stage. Somebody please give me some advice- reasurance-anything- HELP:(
