I had been waiting for my senior season ever since i walked into high school the first day. It was finally here and things were starting to come together. On the kickoff of our last scrimmage before the regular season, i was sprinting downfield and shed a block....then heard a pop and felt some twist. Still managed to make the tackle but couldnt get up. that was it, senior year up in flames.

To make a long story short with insurance and practice BS i ended up going to the doctors who operate on NFL players. I got my surgery on September 27, 2010, a month later.
The doctor managed to stitch up the smaller meniscal tear, but could not fix the other becuase it was too frayed and out of control.
Cant comment on how the knee feels since its been locked up and in the brace ever since. Once the local and numbness wore off i was in pain, but the painkillers helped me out - i only needed them for 3/4 days after surgery.
I am 6 days post-op and have been walking easier using a cane and crutches just for good measure. sleeping - or attempting to - at night is horrible, the brace is huge and uncomfortable. im anxious to get back to my doctor on Wednesday October 6 2010 to set up PT and get back on track to being normal again.
Im worried to go back to school monday since i can barely lay down, how should i be able to sit well and still for almost hours at a time? my parents insist, i already missed a week so it is what it is.
