Pain under knee cap

by Abraham Koshy

I had my acl reconstruction surgery (left knee, also mcl and cartilage repair) on the 27th of October, 2009, today
16th of November I am able to bend it to 127 degrees, but when i do the exercise where i place weights on my ankle and lift the lower part of my leg i get a pain below the knee cap. Is this normal?
I am still walking with crutches and using a brace. Wearing the brace hurts the upper thigh and when I stand after sitting for some time i get an extreme feeling of pins and needled on the
inside of my thigh above the knee, also the bone on my knee right side hurts
when i press on it.

This sounds normal for where you are in your recovery. Pain in the knee with activities is common for the first several weeks, as the body recovers from the surgery. I would recommend talking with your doctor about your concerns.
