PATELLA PAIN

Hi
I'm 55 male, i have had both cartilage taken out from my left knee about 20 yrs ago.I have no swelling, no pain when i walk
but lately i had a sharp pain in the front when i was playing
golf, not swinging but when i started to walk up a steep hill.Again it only happens when i go up hill with alot of weight. Is this scar tissue?,Will a patella support help or
do i have to go to a doctor? I play golf every week.
