Hi i am paul i am 21,i was playing gaelic football about a year ago when i landed akwardly on my knee i heard a lot of poping noises and my knee started to swell within minutes i didnt no what sort of damage i had done so i went to see the club physio he said it was tendon damage so i rested it for two weeks and worked hard in the gym. i went back playing 3 weeks later and my first touch of the ball my knee collapsed striaght away the pain was getting worse so i gave up playing football which i loved playin, about a year on i went to see a knee specialist who diagnosed me with a ruptured acl and torn cartlidges and that i would need surgery to get it fixed,i got the surgery done 4 weeks ago i have 130 degree bend in the knee and have full movement but my quads just look like they have dissapeared, hope to get back playin in 9 months hopefully it will be as strong, just would love to play again.
