old pectoralis tear

If the original injury was several years ago, there may not be much to be done surgically. Many times unless there is a significant muscle detachment, these types of injuries are treated conservatively anyway.

You may want to see your doctor for an evaluation and for a referral for therapy - this could help restore your normal strength and shoulder function.

If you loss of function is that significant, you should see a doctor to explore your options. There may be a surgical alternative.

about an mri
by: Anonymous

i need a referral from my doctor to get an mri or else i have to pay out of pocket $1000, but do you think continued weakness and visual deformity would be enough to get a referral from a doctor?

MRI referral

Visible deformity and weakness should be grounds for a referral to an orthopedist and for an MRI.

electrical therapy
by: Anonymous

how effective do you think electrical stimulation can be on this injury?... i don't think its still torn because i can lift weights and do almost everything pain free... it just gets very sore a lot of times and there feels like a gap in my chest where some muscle should be
