I tore my ACL while skiing on March 5, by April 3rd my ACL was reconstructed with a patellar tendon graft. Today is April 15th, 12 days post-op. I had out-pt surgery, so I went under the knife at 8:00 am and was on my way home at 11:00 am. I did get a femoral nerve block which helped for about 6 hours after the surgery, but when that wore off, wow did my knee hurt. Being a therapist myself, I kind of knew what to expect. And so far so good, I did try to discontinue the vicodin to soon, I could not sleep at all without it, so last night I took the vicodin and got a great nights rest. I also have my very own therapist (cheerleader) to help me with what I can now see, will be a very long road. Concentrating on extension and swelling at this point, because there is nothing else I can do. I am dreaming of the day I can walk like everyone else.
