Popping noise 7 months after ACL and meniscus surgery now pain and swelling..

Ok, I had ACL and Meniscus Reconstruction last March. I had done PT every 5 days and went through 9 weeks of a special rehab program and everything was great. My knee didnt hurt at all except the occasional popping. But one day I was jumping a plyo box, came down and heard a popping noise. Ever since then my knee has been swollen, popping more then usual, i can't bend it as far anymore, and very painful. I start my basketball season in 5 days and I'm not sure if I should go get this checked out or if its anything to worry about. I went to the doc a day after it happened and he said it was probably just scar tissue.. Is that really all it sounds like or should I be a little more worried?? Is there something else it sounds like it could be.. Please and thank you!

scar tissue

It could be scar tissue. If you have pain and swelling for more than a week, I would recommend getting it looked at again to make sure it isn't anything else.

Plenty of Pain...no gain
by: Anonymous

I underwent meniscus tear surgery June of 2009. It is now February 2010 and I'm still in pain. I continue to exercise on a rowing machine and a stationary bike 3, 4xs a week....sometimes more. I do 30 mins on each...sometimes more. The pain is when I do stairs or can be when I'm standing too much on it. There is no pain during my exercise. I had a cortisone injection that did nothing. I've never had an MRI, not even prior to my surgery. Is there any hope for this?
