Possible foot fracture according to doctor

by Sherri
(Ontario, Canada)

I had an x-ray yesterday and the doctor looked at all 3 x-rays and 2 of them were normal... but the other showed a crack in it... so she said it was a possible fracture, and I would have to wait for the radiologist to look at it.... my pain has since gotten worse... I called last night to let them know about it, that I couldn't even ice it it hurt so much.

What should I do?

Sit back and wait for another day?

Hopefully the radiologist will be able to get back to you quickly so you won't have to wonder about whether or not you really do have a fracture.

In the meantime, take time to rest - avoid activities that increase your pain (including ice if it makes it worse).

I know it is frustrating, but once they have a definitive read on the X-ray, they should have a clear treatment plan for you.

The pain usually does get better after the first 2-3 days after injury.

Hope this helps - comment back with other questions.
