post op. ACL redness

Hello everyone,

I had ACL reconstruction surgery along with lat. meniscus a week ago (3/24/09). I went to therapy yesterday and the therapist said it looks pretty good. My whole leg from my knee down is pretty much bruised but around my shin it is really tight and red. Its not the purple color of a bruise its more like a red color. I know statistically speaking the chance of the ACL being infected is very low and the incision where they took my patella tendon is normal looking just below my knee on my shin is red. Anyone know anything about this?

If it is red, warm/hot, & tender - CALL THE DR!
the combination of the three could potentially mean an infection. When I had my ankle ligament reconstruction that happened & believe me, you don't want to wait!

I asked the PT he said it was normal and looked fine. Called the doctor anyway and he confirmed that it was normal.
