Question - Ankle surgery (recovery and rehab)

My son is 17 years old and just had 2 screws put in his ankle to repair a broken ankle. What can he expect as far as recovery and rehab?

I broke my fib.and had 8 plates put in my ankle on April 20th. Had surgery on April 29th. I finally got my walking boot on June 25th. After two weeks of therapy I still have almost no range of motion. How long will this process take? I want to go back to work!I am a 46 yr. old Male and not used to sitting around all day long.
