Question - Arm (rugby hyperextension injury)

I was playing rugby and had some awkward falls during a couple tackles. I remember thinking "that hurt" a couple times but don't remember which instances they were. It wasn't until I was driving home that I noticed my arm hurt. It just seemed sore and like something wasn't right.

It's been a week and I still can't straighten it all the way or turn it without pain. The pain can go from my wrist to all the way up to my shoulder. I'm thinking maybe I accidentally put my arm out in a tackle (stupid move) and hyper extended it or something. I'm not sure though because I have never done it before.

I have another game this weekend and I'm not going to miss it for anything but it would be nice if my arm was better. What can I do to make it heal faster?

see your doctor

First, you should see your doctor to make sure you don't have a fracture - the fact that you can't straighten it all the way out suggests there may be some type of joint pathology.

Second, rest and ice. Obviously, playing without normal motion and strength isn't a good idea.
