Question - Chipped knee bone

My 14 year old nephew chipped a bone on his knee playing football.What is the treatment and recovery time ?

It depends on which bone was fractured and if the fracture was displaced. Most fractures that are small and non-displaced will require immobilization and protection, possibly non-weightbearing for 6-8 weeks.

If the fracture is displaced, it may require surgery, followed by immobilization / non-weightbearing for the same time period.
