Question - Dislocation of the Carpal Bones

by Garth Lawrence

I fell and and thought I broke my hand.
Went to the E.R., had an X-ray and the doctor said I didn't break anything, but when I got up the fourth and fifth carpals were sticking up and turned towards my thumb.

Should I see a specialist? It's been two weeks and I'm still not working and there is still bruising in the palm of the hand.

Could this be more serious than the doctor thought?

Thank you,

Garth Lawrence

Some bruising isn't abnormal, but if you are still having pain and problems and cannot work, I would recommend following up with an orthopedist to make sure you are doing everything possible to treat this injury.

You may need physical therapy or further tests to make sure that everything is getting better.

Hope this helps...
