Question - Elbow hurts

my boyfriend fell playing basketball on his hand. all of his body weight hit his hand and now he cant move his elbow. the elbow and forearm are so painful. he does not know if he ripped something, and was looking to see if you could help me decide if you think it is strained or torn. he has already been to the dr. and they did not see any broken bones.

If there were no broken bones on the X-ray, and he is still having pain, it could be either a ligament tear or a capsule sprain - I would recommend following up with an orthopedist for further evaluation, possibly and MRI to look at soft tissue injury.
