Question - Finger Taping

by Anonymous

Should a sprained finger be taped to its neighbor and why?

Answer - Bart @ SII:

A sprained finger can be taped to its neighbor to help provide support and to "splint" the injured finger. This is common practice for "jammed fingers", especially if the use of a splint will be too bulky during activities. This type of tape job is called Buddy Taping.

This is an acceptable method, but I believe that an actual finger splint works better.

Hope this helps.
