Question - Knee Injury (meniscus and partial ACL tear)

by saahir
(mauritius)

hi everybody...i had an injury while playing football...diagnosis...meniscus vertical tear with partial ant cruciate lig tear and tibial plateau brusing...also had moderate knee effusion...already 4 months...am almost pain free in the end...had followed only conservative treatment.

Problem,it gets locked on and off,did not start running at all, took on weight like an idiot but was truely unable to walk properly..now can flex knee better. What to do next? does locking requires surgery or let it heal by itself?
thanks in advance

Locking
by: Bart - SII

Knee locking may mean you have something inside the joint that is getting in the way - like a meniscus tear, or scar tissue on the ACL. Whether or not you have to have surgery depends upon how much it is limiting your activities, your symptoms, and your own goals for recovery. I would recheck with your doctor and discuss your options.
