Question - Lunges and Tailbone Pain

When I do lunges, I get excruciating pain in my tailbone, only when I lunge on my right leg. I usually just do body weight squats and that doesn't bother me at all, even when I alternate legs. But as it stands, I am unable to do lunges do to the tailbone pain.

Any advice?

Thanks so much!

Peculiar...

It is odd that you can do squats but not lunges. My best advice would be to see your doctor and have a full examination to determine the cause of this problem. Could be a minor muscle strain or it could be something more serious. The best thing to do is avoid aggravating activities (like lunges) until you get it checked out.

Lunge on one side is unbearable painful...
by: Bob

When I do a lunge with my left leg in front of me I get unbearable pain in my tailbone area, but when I do it with my right leg in front, or even regular squats- no pain at all. I do remember falling on my left pelvic area when playing soccer about a year ago and having pain around the area then, but this is more than a year later, and I don't have any pain at all unless I do a lunge on the one side. What can I do to fix this problem? I know I could go see a doctor, but they'll just prescribe me some pain killers and that won't fix my problem forever (this is seriously what happened the last couple times I saw my family doctor, I still have both prescription slips, so please don't just say "see a doctor- get rid of it"). I would really appreciate any help on the matter.
